TOP 10 STAR WARS CREATURES

Much like we have animals amoung us here on Earth, the Star Wars galaxy has countless species living with the populations of each planet. Although our deadliest predators would look as harmless as puppies compared to some of the beasts out there. I've put together my ten favourites, including some I'd absolutely love to keep as pets, and some I'd be running for my life from.
Honourable mentions: Dactillion, Brezak, Loth-cat, Tauntaun, Ronto.

10. Gorog

Introduced in The Force Unleashed II, the Gorog was a colossal creature that towered above everyone and everything that was unlucky enough to come into contact with it. There is nothing on this list more terrifying. Even the immensely powerful Force user Galen Marek struggled to hold his own against the beast. But after an intense prolonged fight, the Jedi eventually claimed the victory after launching himself through the Gorog's torso.

9. Reek

If bulls existed in the Jurassic period, this is what I'd imagine them to look like. With sturdy bodies and three fatal horns, you did not want to get on the wrong side of a reek. Geonosians used them for executions in the Petranaki Arena, where one even attempted to kill Anakin Skywalker until the Jedi Knight managed to tame the beast.

8. Jungle Rancor

You probably thought that normal rancors were threatening enough, but they're nothing compared to the enormous subspecies. Apart from the size, other distinctions from the common rancor include bright blue skin, webbed hands and feet, and shell-like plating. Jungle Rancors were also much faster and agile, making them even deadlier predators.

7. Zillo Beast

The Zillo Beast was obviously influenced by Godzilla, as a colossal monster that goes on a rampage in a city. It certainly made for an exciting couple of episodes in The Clone Wars, where even the Jedi and Army of the Republic couldn't stop the beast. Standing at 97 meters tall with impenetrable armour plating, explosions, blaster fire and even lightsabers weren't able to even lay a scratch. Darth Sidious, under the disguise of Chancellor Palpatine, ordered this beast's destruction, making it incredibly hostile towards him. It even attempted to hunt down and end the secret Sith Lord's life. The Zillo Beast sadly met a tragic end where it was eventually killed.

6. Acklay

This ferocious beast looks like an insect mutation gone wrong. With their sharp teeth and six clawed legs, the acklay is certainly not something you'd want to run into in the wild. As seen during the battle of Geonosis, an acklay provides a challenge for even the seasoned Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. You may remember fighting hordes of these Felucian natives during the campaign of the classic Battlefront II while playing as Aayla Secura.

5. Varactyl

Varactyls were large lizard-like creatures that the natives of Utapau often used as mounts. They had bird-like features, including a beaked mouth and feathers from head to tail, giving them an impressive look. As loyal and obediant steeds, Obi-Wan Kenobi rode one named Boga during his visit to Utapau. Varactyls were incredibly fast and durable, as shown when Boga was able to keep up with General Grievous' wheel bike and jump from incredible heights.

4. Vulptex

Out of all the creatures on this list, the vulptex is what I'd most want as a pet. These cute fox-like creatures have coats made up of white crystals, giving them a very unique and stylish look. Living on the mineral planet Crait, which is largely made of crystals itself, they fit into the environment perfectly.

3. Porg

From the second they appeared on screen in The Last Jedi, we all fell in love. Porgs are definitely the cutest creatures in the Star Wars galaxy, with their little bird-like bodies and adorable noises. They also provided just as many laughs as they did "aww's". And I think you'd all agree with me that they'd make fantastic pets.

2. Purrgil

Purrgil were large whale-like creatures that lived in the void of space. If that didn't already make them unique enough, they also had the ability to travel through hyperspace across the galaxy, much like starships. Ezra Bridger developed a strong connection to these creatures, who ended up helping him greatly on more than one occasion.

1. Loth-wolf

Loth-wolves were tough, ferocious canines with unique connections to the Force. They acted as guardians of the light side on the world of Lothal, under the leadership of the mighty Dume. These wolves helped guide and defend young Ezra Bridger on his path to becoming a powerful Jedi Knight.
